Opening its doors in August 2019, Swadist is a Rawat’s family owned restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Asian cultural heritage to New Jersey. With having experience of over 25 years, we create the finest Indian, Chinese and Thai food. Thirty years ago it’s when it all started. Chef Rawat started his career as a helper in Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi, capital of India. And through his hard work and his passion for cooking, he finally became a cook at Oberoi. Later, he was sponsored to move to USA as a Chef.

Mr. Rawat is the heart of Swadist. He is known for his talent and passion for food and cooking. He has been in the hotel/restaurant industry for over 25 years.
Swadist is a Sanskrit word, which basically means tasty, delicious, or tasteful. With that meaning, our goal is very straight forward - to give our customer with excellent quality of Swadist food as well as great service. Our chefs prepare food that is true to its roots. At Swadist, our team of chef’s are adept in providing you with versatile multi-cuisine menu selection and to meet with your special needs and requirements. We serve Indian, Chinese and Thai food. Mr. Rawat is the heart of Swadist. He is known for his talent and passion for food and cooking. He has been in the hotel/restaurant industry for over 25 years. For the past 25 years, he has dedicated his life to providing his customers with delicious food. His specialty is in North Indian cuisine as well as Indo-Chinese food, and he also excels in other cuisines like Thai and south Indian.
